PSG Director Speaks of Luis Enrique's Conversation with Neymar

Luis Enrique's Impact on Neymar's PSG Departure and Campos's Advocacy for Dembélé

Neymar's exit from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) for Saudi soccer coincided with Luis Enrique's arrival at the French club. Enrique had won the Champions League elsewhere last season. Luis Campos, PSG's sports advisor, disclosed details of this period in an RMC podcast interview. According to Campos, Luis Enrique was direct with Neymar from the outset about his squad plans, unequivocally stating that it would be beneficial for Neymar to leave. Enrique's rationale emphasized team play and selecting players based on weekly performance. Separately, Campos also strongly advocated for Ousmane Dembélé to win the World's Best Player award and the Ballon d'Or, presented by France Football magazine in collaboration with L'Équipe newspaper. Campos asserted that Dembélé's achievements were more than sufficient, stating that any other outcome would be a significant injustice. Globo Esporte detailed these comments.
