Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade Will Occupy One-Third of Nintendo Switch 2's Storage, Even in Physical Version

Space-Consuming Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade on Nintendo Switch 2 Demands Nearly a Third of Storage

Despite being distributed via a physical card, Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade for Nintendo Switch 2 does not contain the full game data on the cartridge itself. Instead, the card serves as a download key, requiring players to download the entire game from the eShop. This approach was necessary because standard Switch cartridges have a maximum capacity of 64 GB, which is insufficient for the game's extensive data. According to the US eShop, Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade's download size is 87.9 GB. This substantial file size occupies more than one-third of the Switch 2's 256 GB internal storage, not accounting for space required by the operating system and other system files. At 87.9 GB on the Switch 2, Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade positions itself between other console versions: it is larger than the PlayStation 4 version (around 75 GB) but smaller than both the PlayStation 5 (80 GB) and PC (94 GB) versions. This makes it one of the more substantial titles on the Switch 2, exceeding the sizes of games such as Cyberpunk 2077 (56.8 GB) and Split Fiction (71 GB), though it remains smaller than Street Fighter 6 (78 GB).
