Super Mario Galaxy is the Title of the New Super Mario Film

New Super Mario Galaxy Movie Hits Theaters April 3, 2026

Nintendo and Illumination have announced that their upcoming film, Super Mario Galaxy, will be released in theaters on April 3, 2026. The movie draws inspiration from the classic Wii game. Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic will return as directors, with Matthew Fogel once again writing the script. Nintendo has not yet confirmed the full cast for Super Mario Galaxy, but most of the voice actors from the 2023 Super Mario Bros. Movie are expected to reprise their roles. Chris Pratt is set to voice Mario, Charlie Day as Luigi, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, and Jack Black as Bowser for the English version. Additional cast members include Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek.

Sony Pictures Presents The Legend of Zelda and Donkey Kong Movies in Hollywood

Nintendo's expansion into Hollywood adaptations continues beyond Super Mario Galaxy. The company has partnered with Sony Pictures to bring The Legend of Zelda to theaters on March 26, 2027. Wes Ball (director of The Maze Runner) will direct, and Bo Bragason has been cast as Zelda alongside Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Link. Furthermore, Nintendo is also developing a Donkey Kong movie, aiming to capitalize on Seth Rogen's popular portrayal of the character in the 2023 Super Mario Bros. Movie.
