Injustice 3 Confirmed? Actors Phil LaMarr and George Newbern Hint at Upcoming Project

NetherRealm Studios plans to discontinue support for Mortal Kombat 1 in May 2025, a decision made sooner than many fans wanted. The studio stated this move allows them to focus on a new project. In November 2022, Studio Head Ed Boon hinted that this upcoming title could be either Mortal Kombat 12 or Injustice 3. While fans have generally speculated it would be another DC Comics-based game, these rumors gained significant traction recently when actors Phil LaMarr, who voices John Stewart, and George Newbern both indicated that NetherRealm is currently working on Injustice 3 at a fan event. A new Injustice game was rumored due to repeated news around the franchise though the initial job listing would suggest that it is a long way off. In June a job listing from Warner Bros. Games, that is still listed as of October 2020, for a Principal Software Engineer to work on the graphics of a next-gen vision of the Mortal Kombat and Injustice franchise. In July it was brought up when the author of the Injustice tie-in comics teased a continuation of that series. The later announcement, of Injustice Year Zero, was not connected to a new game. In August a teaser image was posted by BossLogic ahead of the DC FanDome event using the title Injustic3.
