MiHoYo Enters Monster-Catching Realm to Challenge Pokémon Dominance

Since its debut in the 1990s, the Pokémon phenomenon has maintained its immense popularity. Many developers have attempted to replicate its success in the monster-catching genre, though none have managed to dethrone it. Soon, miHoYo will enter this competitive landscape.

miHoYo Enters Colorful Creature-Collecting Realm with Free Gacha Game Honkai Nexus Anima

miHoYo, known for hit titles such as Genshin Impact, Zenless Zone Zero, and Honkai: Star Rail, is expanding into the creature-collecting genre with its latest free-to-play game, Honkai Nexus Anima. While not a direct clone of Pokémon, the game features adorable creature designs and a vibrant, colorful world with art direction familiar to miHoYo fans. Like its predecessors, Honkai Nexus Anima operates as a gacha game. In Honkai Nexus Anima, players collect over 50 unique monsters, known as Animas, to form teams for combat. The game's main mode draws inspiration from auto-battler titles like Teamfight Tactics (TFT), where characters are strategically arranged on a grid and engage in automatic, round-based battles. This system offers a distinct approach compared to traditional Pokémon-style combat. miHoYo has not yet announced an official release date for Honkai Nexus Anima on PC, mobile, or potential console platforms; however, miHoYo confirms the game is free-to-play. Players interested in trying the game can participate in the ongoing Nexus Bond Test, accessible via the official website, which runs until September 12th.
