DeNA recently released its latest financial report, outlining plans to expand the Pokémon TCG Pocket mobile game. The company aims to attract new players and re-engage those who have stopped playing. From April to June 2025, DeNA reported financial results exceeding 242 million, representing a 23% increase compared to Q2 2024 but a 12% decrease compared to Q1 2025. During the same period, revenue for the game surpassed 72 million, marking a substantial 498% increase over Q2 2024 but a 10% decrease from Q1 2025. Despite these figures, challenges for Pokémon TCG Pocket persist. DeNA reported approximately 39 million monthly active unique users. While in-game subscriptions are performing well, 60% of digital currency spending originates from overseas, indicating less interest from Japanese players than anticipated. To address player engagement, DeNA is implementing regular updates and new content to attract users. However, the company acknowledged difficulties in retaining existing players. Declining player retention is a major concern, and maintaining monthly active users remains a top priority for DeNA.
