Revised Game Artwork and Description for Light of Motiram Amid Sony’s Lawsuit Allegations

Following Sony’s lawsuit, Tencent’s Polaris Pursuit studio adjusted the Steam page for the game Light of Motiram. The lawsuit alleged similarities between Light of Motiram and the Horizon series, specifically in visual style, gameplay, and marketing. Revisions to the Steam page include changes to the game’s description. Originally, it mentioned giant machines, “mechanimals,” and direct references to technological progress, which fueled comparisons with Horizon. The description now features more general text focusing on survival in a harsh world and the importance of overcoming obstacles. Polaris Pursuit also updated the main artwork. The studio replaced an image of a red-haired woman resembling Horizon’s protagonist, Aloy, with an illustration featuring two robot creatures, one resembling a dog and the other a penguin. Additionally, the studio removed images showcasing creatures and landscapes similar to Horizon’s visual aesthetic. The updated visuals now highlight the game’s open world, without emphasizing characters or elements linked to the PlayStation series. Light of Motiram is targeting a Q4 2027 release window; however, the studio has not yet announced a definitive release date.
