Sekiro Anime Speculation Grows with Qzil.la Involvement and Domain Registration

Kadokawa, a Japanese animation firm and owner of FromSoftware, known for its anime and manga production, has registered the domain `sekiroanime.jp`, sparking speculation about a possible film or series adaptation of the game. Rumors suggest that Qzil.la, known for adapting the `Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku` franchise, may produce the long-speculated `Sekiro` anime. The nature of the project—whether a movie or a series—remains uncertain. FromSoftware has previously indicated an interest in developing transmedia models for its popular franchises, such as `Elden Ring`. Regarding `Elden Ring`, Alex Garland, known for films such as `Ex Machina`, `Annihilation`, and `Civil War`, will write and direct a live-action adaptation. This project is a collaboration between Studio A24 and publisher Bandai Namco, as reported by Deadline. George R.R. Martin will serve as a co-producer, alongside Peter Rice, Andrew Macdonald, and Vince Gerardis. The project currently remains in pre-production. Official filming dates or casting details have not been announced. However, some sources indicate that filming is projected to begin in 2026.
