The game is slated for release in 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. The Monster Hunter Stories series traditionally launched on Nintendo systems, beginning with its debut on the Nintendo 3DS in 2016. Earlier versions of the first game were released on PC, Switch, and PlayStation 4 in 2020, followed by Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin on Switch and PC in 2021. According to Capcom, Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection centers on the nations of Azuria and Vermeil, which face impending destruction. An invasion of crystals is devastating their lands. Hope initially emerges when a mysterious egg hatches, revealing a Rathalos, a monster long-thought-extinct. However, a second monster soon emerges from the same egg, bringing despair instead of salvation. These twin Rathalos portend destruction, echoing the Rathalos Skyscale that heralded a civil war fought 200 years prior.
