Reducing Illnesses and Balance Adjustments in The Sims 4 Enchanted Gardens Update

The Sims 4’s new Enchanted Gardens expansion, intended as a delight for fans, has instead been a source of frustration for over a month. Since the release of this latest DLC, Electronic Arts’ title has accumulated numerous bugs and issues, prompting Maxis to release several updates. With the “immaculate conception glitch” now resolved, the studio is addressing further problems within the Enchanted Gardens expansion. Last week, Maxis announced significant changes for The Sims 4, specifically targeting illnesses affecting magical beings. Players had previously noted these issues occurred too frequently, detracting from the intended enjoyment. Yesterday’s update, rolled out across all platforms, delivered a new set of fixes. Maxis stated it would reduce illness frequency by 75%, primarily targeting the herbalist profession by making ailments less contagious and adjusting the balance system previously linked to their frequent appearances. The studio further explained that extreme emotions now drain a Sim’s balance faster than usual, though Sims now have more time to react and seek proper care.

Console Gallery Access Issue Workaround for The Sims 4 Enhancement and Fairy Magic Control Investigation

Maxis also acknowledged a specific issue affecting console players: an inability to access the Gallery and retrieve event rewards. The studio attributed this problem to the contextual agreement window failing to appear correctly. While a definitive fix is being developed, The Sims 4 creators suggest the following workaround after saving game progress: Players should navigate to “Game Play Options,” then “Other,” select “Link EA Account,” accept the new terms of use, and restart the game. This process may need to be repeated. If French text appears during this process, translate it to English as required. The latest version of The Sims 4 is 1.116.240.1020 on PC, 1.116.240.1220 on Mac, and 2.17 on consoles. Maxis is also investigating the addition of a new control for fairy magic powers, a potential fix for an upcoming update. Players experiencing difficulty summoning fairy wings should contact Maxis for assistance. Other fixes are anticipated but have not yet been detailed.
