The trailer for Star Trek: Starfleet Academy premiered at San Diego Comic-Con, with the series set to debut on Paramount in early 2026. This new installment takes place in the 32nd century, focusing on Earth's Starfleet Academy and its first group of cadets in over a century. The plot picks up after Star Trek: Discovery, set against the backdrop of the Federation's reconstruction efforts. Holly Hunter leads the cast as Chancellor Nahla Ake, captain of the USS Athena. A new crew of cadets includes Sandro Rosta, Karim Diane, Kerrice Brooks, George Hawkins, Bella Shepard, and Zoe Steiner. The series will also feature fan favorites such as Robert Picardo, returning as the Doctor from Voyager; Tig Notaro as Jett Reno; and Oded Fehr as Admiral Vance.
