New Flexstrike Arcade Controller: Sony's Wireless Powerhouse for Fighting Games at Evo 2025
Sony's brand-new wireless arcade controller, the Flexstrike, has been officially released. Designed for fighting games, it is compatible with both PlayStation 5 and PC. Sony will showcase the Flexstrike at Evo 2025 in Las Vegas from August 1 to 3. Sony's entry into the arcade controller market highlights the Flexstrike's standout feature: PlayStation Link technology for low-latency wireless connectivity. This technology allows two Flexstrike controllers to be paired for multiplayer games on a single console using just one USB adapter, while also supporting use with Pulse Elite or Pulse Explore headphones. The Flexstrike features mechanical switch buttons, a customizable digital lever, and an ergonomic design with an anti-slip base. It includes three types of restrictor blocks—square, circular, and octagonal—which users can easily swap without tools and store within the controller. Additionally, a lock button prevents accidental inputs during combat, and a dedicated switch modifies the lever input modes. Connectivity options include a USB-C cable or wireless operation via its built-in rechargeable battery. Sony has not yet disclosed the battery's expected life. The controller comes with a travel case, equipped with a handle for convenient portability of the device and its accessories.

The Fight Stick Museum and the Arc System Works zone will display the Flexstrike at Evo 2025. Sony has not yet announced pricing information for the controller.
