Garfield Kart 2: Drift Challenge Aimed at Rivaling Mario Kart World's Dominance
Despite facing challenges, Microids isn't deterred. The publisher is taking on what appears to be a formidable task: competing with Mario Kart World, which recently launched on Nintendo Switch 2. Their new entry, Garfield Kart 2: All You Can Drift, is a sequel to the 2019 karting game that left many unimpressed due to its lack of depth, unengaging gameplay, and simplistic difficulty. Eden Games has not clarified if significant changes have been implemented for the sequel; visually, the game retains its cartoonish and simple aesthetic. The developers promise diverse tracks and environments, with potential surprises to enhance item usage. However, beyond these stated features, the game appears to largely replicate existing genre conventions. Unfortunately, the short trailer doesn't reveal much about these changes or new features. Garfield Kart 2: All You Can Drift is scheduled for release on September 10th for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch, and is still developed by Eden Games.
