Dying Light: The Beast Shifts to September 19 for Enhanced Quality

Techland has officially postponed the release of Dying Light: The Beast from its original August 22, 2025, date to September 19, 2025. The studio stated that these additional four weeks are crucial for delivering a higher quality final product through refinements to gameplay balance, interface, physics, cutscenes, and animations. Initially conceived as an expansion for Dying Light 2: Stay Human, the project has expanded in scope to become a standalone title. Dying Light: The Beast features the return of Kyle Crane, the protagonist from the first game, who now possesses monster powers after years of captivity. The game's action takes place in Castor Woods, a new rural environment that combines intense battles with vertical exploration and parkour. The main campaign for Dying Light: The Beast is expected to offer approximately 20 hours of gameplay, complemented by an additional 20 to 30 hours of optional content. Director Tymon Smektala revealed that internal tests showed players rated the final mission highly, with an average score of 4.96 out of 5.

Dying Light: The Beast - Enhanced Co-op and Vehicles Arrive September 2025

The game will include a cooperative mode for up to four players and reintroduces vehicles, a feature not seen in the series since The Following DLC. It will launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, with PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions anticipated in late 2025. Players who purchased the Ultimate Edition of Dying Light 2 will receive Dying Light: The Beast for free upon its release.
