Assassin's Creed Shadows to Get New Game+, DLC 'Claws of Awaji

Ubisoft has provided an overview of upcoming Assassin's Creed Shadows updates, outlining plans for July, August, and September 2025.

The first major update is scheduled for July 29, 2025. This patch introduces the highly anticipated New Game mode, which players can unlock by completing the final mission and viewing the end credits. When starting a fresh campaign, character levels, abilities, gear, and hideout progress carry over, while objectives, discovered locations, and narrative progression reset. The update also increases the level cap from 60 to 80 and adds new collectible items linked to the Animus. Additionally, "Project 3" was hinted at, though specific details remain undisclosed. The downloadable content (DLC) Claws of Awaji was also announced, with its full release planned for September.

August Update Reveals All Observation Points, Frame Rate Enhancements & AMA with Devs in Assassin's Creed Shadows

The August update addresses community requests. It will enable all observation points to automatically synchronize and reveal the entire in-game map. For PC players, Ubisoft will remove the frame rate limiter from cutscenes. Furthermore, a Reddit Ask Me Anything (AMA) session with the production team is scheduled for August 12, allowing players to directly engage with the developers.

September Brings Claws of Awaji DLC with Time Adjustment and New Equipment in Assassin's Creed Shadows

September marks the release of Claws of Awaji, the game's first major content expansion. This DLC will include technical improvements and new gameplay options, such as the ability to adjust the time of day at will. Players can also expect new equipment types and rarity categories with this expansion.
