The successful launch of Mario Kart World on Nintendo Switch appears to be reigniting interest in other franchise titles, notably Mario Kart Tour. This mobile game, after years without fresh features, is now receiving new content and remains free to play.

Revived Mario Kart Tour Gets Fresh Events and Free Content (July 23 - Aug 6, 2025)

Nintendo is reviving Mario Kart Tour, a game that had ceased receiving support two years prior. Launched in 2019 to critical reviews significantly lower than typical franchise scores, the title nonetheless maintained a dedicated fanbase. Capitalizing on the success of Mario Kart World, Nintendo is now re-engaging with Tour by introducing fresh events and free content. A special event runs from July 23 to August 6, 2025, marking this revival. During this period, Mario and Luigi will receive new mechanic outfits, and four new vehicles are being added to the mobile game. The summer season will also bring additional events to Mario Kart Tour. Kicking off is the "Sunshine Tour," featuring never-before-seen sailor outfits for Daisy and Toadstool. Subsequently, the "Vacation Tour" and "Summer Tour" will each run for two weeks. This surge of new content is particularly noteworthy, as Nintendo had previously stated that no further additions would be made to the game. With the Nintendo Switch 2 on the horizon, there is renewed optimism that this mobile title will gain further prominence among its fanbase.
