Resident Evil Database Model Roya Athina Reveals Photogrammetry Process for Requiem
Roya Athina, a model associated with Resident Evil Database (Brazil’s largest Resident Evil fan group), recently shared a secret on her social media: she took part in the photogrammetry process for Resident Evil Requiem. Initially, people weren’t quite sure what it meant, but the news spread fast. Now, fans are buzzing, eager to know which character in the RE Engine might feature Roya’s scanned face. On June 6th, when the Resident Evil 9 trailer dropped and was revealed as Requiem, Roya shared a video of the entire process and wrote: “To celebrate the RE9 trailer coming out, here’s my face scan, all mapped out. I’m super excited that my features might be used as a reference for one of the female characters – even more so if they show up in playable characters! Big thanks to everyone involved. I’m officially part of an amazing fandom now!” When we reached out to Roya, she cleared things up for us: “I don’t really know what role my face scan will play or how they’ll use it in the game. Plus, other models had their faces scanned too. They might use my whole face or just bits of it, like my eyes, nose, or mouth. I usually model for magazines, fashion shows, and commercials, so this is totally new for me. But I’m really thankful for all the love – it feels awesome to be part of such a cool fandom.”
Roya Athina Discusses Inclusion and Photogrammetry Process in Resident Evil Requiem Article
When someone asked if they could write about her, given that she owns the rights to her face, Roya’s response was essentially, “Sure, go ahead and put me in the article!” She also mentioned her face scan probably isn’t a huge deal, as many other models have gone through the same process for testing. They might just use small parts of it, like her eyebrows or something.
