As Grand Theft Auto 6 captures media attention, 2K Games selected this French holiday to release the first gameplay trailer for the upcoming Mafia title, named The Old Country. Set for release on August 8, 2025, the game aims to return to its roots. Nick Baynes, president of Hangar 13, emphasizes: “It’s a step forward and a return to fundamentals.” This involves revisiting linear storytelling set in the dusty streets of Sicily from 1900, the birthplace of Cosa Nostra. The trailer showcases knife fights, gunfights with a cover system, stealth sequences, and vintage car chases, all enhanced by a more cinematic presentation through Unreal Engine 5.
From the publishing side, two offerings are announced: the Standard version at €49.99 (full game), and the Deluxe version at €59.99 for true enthusiasts.
