A few weeks ago, we had a preview, but this time it’s officially announced—the T-1000 is unveiled through a 3-minute and 18-second video, demonstrating its formidable nature. In an era where artificial intelligence is rapidly integrating into our lives, this autonomous AI system from Skynet is composed of shape-memory alloy (or liquid metal), making it nearly indestructible. It can also transform into objects or people it encounters, mimicking their appearance, behavior, and voice, thereby becoming a highly challenging adversary to detect and defeat. The developers at NetherRealm Studios have done an excellent job adapting this character with meticulous attention to detail across all aspects, particularly in movements and attacks that are inspired by the events seen in the film Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991). Additionally, the T-1000 features the voice of actor Robert Patrick, who has been re-hired for his role; it should be noted that Mr. Patrick is no longer young these days.
The video also showcases his second Fatality, following the one revealed in the teaser several weeks ago where he arrived with a semi-trailer. Additionally, viewers are given a glimpse of his Brutality and Animality movesets, which allow him to transform into a German Shepherd K-9 to aggressively bite opponents. The T-1000 is not alone in this update, as Madam Bo, a cameo character who serves as an alternative version of Bo’Rai Cho and his famous tea house, makes an appearance. This reflects the game’s Multiverse concept. These features will be available starting March 18th for those with Early Access, which includes owners of the Khaos Reigns extension, while others will have to wait until March 25th for a standalone purchase.
