Announced in August 2022 during gamescom, Where Winds Meet is a game that has recently gained support from PlayStation. Its presentation at the PlayStation State of Play on May 31, 2024, indicates Sony Interactive Entertainment’s confidence in its potential. Until now, no release date had been announced, and many believed it would be several years before its arrival. However, studio Everstone surprised everyone with the latest game trailer, revealing its release date. The game will indeed be available on PC for the Chinese market on December 27, 2024. Additionally, an iOS and Android port is scheduled to launch around Chinese New Year, which falls on January 29, 2025.
Currently, no international release date has been specified; however, given the support from Sony Interactive Entertainment, it is evident that its launch in Western countries will be managed differently. China has acknowledged the interest in releasing its AAA titles globally, particularly following the tremendous success of Black Myth Wukong, which sold 20 million copies within 15 days.
