Death Stranding 2: Baffling Photo Mode and Exorbitant Clothing Prices

Absent from Sony’s State of Play, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach was prominently featured at the Tokyo Game Show 2024, closing the event with remarkable flair. The game was presented on stage at Makuhari Messe during a panel that exceeded 90 minutes, alongside Hideo Kojima and parts of its cast, including Japanese dubbing actors. Attendees witnessed seiyuus recording sessions and a gameplay segment featuring the character of Nicolas Winding Refn, a Danish filmmaker who is a real-life friend of Kojima-san. What distinguished this 1.5-hour panel was the introduction of the Photo Mode, showcasing unique poses, dances, and even jokes from characters like Fragile, Tomorrow, and Rainy, offering a distinctive rendering that diverges from traditional photo modes.

During the Tokyo Game Show 2024, Kojima Productions presented clothing from the ACRONYM brand that will appear in the game through special jackets and is also available for purchase in real life. This follows the same approach used for the first Death Stranding, with designer Errolson Hugh responsible for the design and materials of the vest, which has already sold out despite its price of 1,540€.
