Ten days ago, the ESRB, the U.S. video game classification body, had already leaked this information. During a State of Play event focused on the Tokyo Game Show 2024, Sony Interactive Entertainment officially confirmed the existence of Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered. A trailer accompanied the announcement, detailing the modifications made to this PS5 version, which some consider unnecessary. Enhanced graphics are promised, fully utilizing the power and features of the PS5 console. The capabilities of the DualSense controller are also highlighted, including haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. Additionally, Guerrilla studio explained that a new optional accessibility feature has been added, using sound and haptic feedback to inform players about interactive elements like collectibles, which were previously indicated only visually.
Developers have specified that Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered will be natively compatible with the PlayStation 5 Pro, offering an enhanced range of graphical features optimized to leverage the PS5 Pro’s power while maintaining ultra-high fidelity at ultra-fast frame rates. The PC version includes support for ultra-wide resolutions and the latest performance enhancement technologies like NVIDIA DLSS 3 and AMD FSR 3.1.
Note that players who have completed the original 2017 game can load their old saves and enjoy New Game+ directly if they have finished the adventure. For owners of Horizon Zero Dawn (PS4, PC) and/or Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition (PS4, PS5, PC), a €9.99 fee is required for this remastered version. The release date for the remaster is set for October 31st.
