Microids Promises a Major Update to Completely Transform the Game

Released in November last year, Tintin Reporter: The Pharaoh’s Cigars was a disappointing experience due to its overly assisted gameplay, quick-time events (QTEs) from an earlier era, and an infiltration system reminiscent of the early 2000s. This led to multiple instances where we encountered issues, exacerbated by numerous bugs at launch. In response to this chaotic start, TintinImaginatio issued an apology and committed to addressing technical problems as swiftly as possible. In August, Microids announced a major (and free) update for the game, stating it would “transform the gaming experience.” According to the press release, this unexpected update will include “exciting new features,” such as “an unseen sequence where Tintin embarks on an adventure atop a horse,” “exclusive character gallery” content, and “a Tintinologue mode” for fans of the Belgian reporter. The aim is to enhance player experience by offering anecdotes about Hergé’s created universe throughout gameplay progression. Pendulo Studio has been diligently working to meet players’ expectations.

Simultaneously, it is reported that a Nintendo Switch version will be available on October 17th, alongside the update. Here are three screenshots of the Switch version.
