During the Xbox Games Showcase, another title was revealed: Mecha Break, a multiplayer shooter that enables players to control robots capable of transforming during real combat. When discussing mech games in multiplayer, Armored Core is often mentioned; its latest installment was released last summer and received positive feedback. However, one challenge with the Armored Core series has been its lack of dynamism due to the robots being too cumbersome to maneuver. In contrast, Mecha Break distinguishes itself through the speed of its gameplay, featuring real-time transformation capabilities that grant players specific abilities based on their chosen form.
To further facilitate transformations, Mecha Break provides customizable mechas from head to toe, allowing your robot to stand out during online confrontations. You will then need to select your combat style from options including attacker, brawler, defender, sniper, and support. The game currently announces three modes: a 6v6 Battlefield mode, a 3v3 Arena mode, and a 60-player PvP mode, which the developers describe as the ultimate mecha confrontation experience.
Meanwhile, regarding Seasun Games, a Chinese studio that initially focused on mobile games before setting higher goals, it is important to note that Mecha Break has already gone through several closed betas. The game underwent additional testing in China on a larger scale. A further closed beta is scheduled for August next year, followed by the game’s release in 2025 across PC, PS5, and Xbox Series platforms.
