Akuma/Gouki, a half-beast, half-demon fighter, has been added to Street Fighter 6 two months after its announcement. This addition enhances the roster of Capcom’s fighting game and coincides with significant updates in combat balance. Similar to other downloadable content (DLC) characters, Akuma/Gouki includes three gameplay modes: Fighting Ground, World Tour mode, and Battle Hub. Players can thus engage with this legendary figure from the Street Fighter series, who returns with an intriguing backstory. Here are the key points about these new features:
A brand new Raid event titled “Giant Attack” has been introduced in the Battle Hub within the Street Fighter 6 framework. In this event, players from each Battle Hub server are challenged to take on an oversized Akuma. Participants must earn attack points through various activities and collaboration with other fighters in the hub. Once sufficient points are accumulated, players can launch a powerful Hadoken to defeat the giant adversary. Special rewards for this event will be available until May 31st.
Power Test against SIRN Akuma: A more powerful, aggressive, and intelligent version of Akuma is available for challenge on one of the special terminals in the Battle Hub, offering exclusive rewards.
Costume 3 includes enough content to update the wardrobe for the four additional characters from the first year of Street Fighter 6: Akuma, Ed, A.K.I., and Rashid!
Major combat balance update: The release of the latest Year 1 DLC character comes with gameplay adjustments for all fighters. All changes are detailed here.
New game mechanics: The 22 characters now feature a brand new move called “Recovery Drive Reversal,” which can be executed upon getting up after being knocked down.
New combo challenges: New challenges are to be tackled for a selection of characters, taking into account the latest balance updates for combat.
Custom music settings and new music bundles have been introduced, enabling players to listen to their preferred tracks during combat. Additionally, a selection of music bundles featuring themes from the Street Fighter saga is now available. These can be acquired using Drive Tickets or Fighter Coins.
New character introduction screens: New character presentation screens are now available to spice up players’ arrival in combat.
New Equipment: Available for discovery in the Battle Hub shop to allow customization of your Avatar.
