There are numerous rumors circulating about the Nintendo Switch 2, or rather the next Nintendo console, as you are well aware. It has become so prevalent that it is difficult to take any rumor seriously today. However, a press release from CES 2024 in Las Vegas by Ai Shark (formerly known as GameShark) may provide us with more concrete information. Indeed, Ai Shark announced at CES 2024 in Las Vegas the return of the GameShark brand, set to relaunch in September 2024. According to the company, this release window “should coincide with the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2.”
For reference, GameShark was a recognized brand for creating various devices that allowed the use of cheat codes. With this desire for renewal and change of name, Ai Shark will leverage AI to enhance its software and thus better assist players in improving their gameplay over time. Ai Shark clarifies that its software is not intended as a cheating tool but rather focuses on helping individuals improve their gameplay gradually. The press release indicates that the target audience is casual gamers. Todd Hays, founder of Ai Shark, states that “Altec Lansing is their first peripheral licensing partner, and they will help them capture a significant share of the $2.5 billion video game headset market. This marks the beginning of a series of AI Gaming technology partnerships that will improve the gaming ecosystem for global players.”
At this stage, Nintendo has understandably refrained from commenting on these rumors. According to reports from Digital Trends and Jason Schreier (from Bloomberg), however, Altec Lansing’s statements are based on internal industry discussions rather than leaked information. Consequently, an official statement from Nintendo will be necessary to clarify the situation. Until then, any claims remain speculative.
