It looks like Microsoft was quite impressed with PS5’s faceplates and decided to bring a similar concept to their Xbox Series X lineup! The company just announced the arrival of what they’re calling wraps—colorful plastic envelopes that let you dress up your console in vibrant hues associated with specific games. Pretty exciting, right? Let’s take Starfield as an example; it’s coming out on September 6th next year and will be one of the first to have its own wrap. But here’s the catch: we’ll need to wait until October 18th before we can get our hands on these stylish new accessories. Priced at $49.99 (the French price is still TBA), these wraps aren’t just stickers but cleverly designed pieces that attach to your Xbox Series X using self-gripping velcro. The Starfield wrap, in particular, includes panels reminiscent of the limited edition Xbox Starfield controller and, according to Monique Chatterjee, Principal Design Director at Xbox, “the main internal components of the console are highlighted through an access panel with graphics inspired by the game.” How cool is that?
In addition to the Starfield wrap, Microsoft will also introduce two camouflage patterns starting November 10th, priced at $44.99 each: a sleek grey option and a captivating “mineral” blue one. Both colors perfectly complement the existing Arctic and Mineral Camo controllers. This marks the first time that Xbox consoles are officially offering customizable skins, giving users the freedom to personalize their devices without having to purchase limited edition models. No more need for pricey special editions; now you can enjoy an official customized look at a much friendlier price!
