Call Of Duty Now Earns Microsoft Rewards Points On Game Pass Instead Of Discounts
Microsoft has officially confirmed the removal of discounts on Call of Duty DLCs for Xbox Game Pass subscribers, as reported. Previously, Game Pass holders received approximately a 10% discount on Call of Duty expansions and add-ons. Now, instead of upfront savings, subscribers earn Microsoft Rewards points with each purchase. Subscribers can accumulate points by playing games, searching with Bing, purchasing titles on the Microsoft Store, or completing various missions. Those aged eighteen or older are eligible for daily, weekly, and monthly missions. Premium and Ultimate members also receive exclusive monthly missions, including 4- and 8-pack options. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can earn up to four times more points and receive an additional 10% discount on specific library purchases. Consequently, the benefit shifts from immediate cash savings to accumulating points that can be redeemed for rewards such as store credit or gift cards. Microsoft states this change aims to standardize benefits across the board. However, Call of Duty players accustomed to the previous discounts may find the new system less appealing. While the points system may appear to be a fair trade in principle, some members of the community have expressed dissatisfaction.
