Super Mario Galaxy Movie: Bowser Jr. Save The Day, Galactic Adventure Returns With Humor And Action
Studios Illumination will release Super Mario Galaxy in April 2026, only three years after Super Mario Bros. While this is a tight production schedule for an animated sequel requiring extensive work—storyboarding, 3D animation, and marketing—the initial trailer is visually impressive and features compelling characters. The hope is that this installment delivers a richer narrative than the first film. The trailer shows Bowser still miniature and obsessed with Peach, imprisoned in a Mushroom Kingdom cage. His son, Bowser Jr., armed with his magic paintbrush, steps in to try and save the day. Nintendo and Illumination are bringing back the galactic adventure of Mario Galaxy, this time with more humor and self-aware moments, presented with polished animation. Harmonie (Rosalina) also steals the show, facing off against Megapod at her Comet Observatory in a visually stunning battle. Brie Larson gives voice to Harmonie in the English version, and Benny Safdie gives Bowser Jr. an endearingly anxious portrayal. Information about the French dub is not yet available. Given the attention to detail in the trailer, Nintendo appears committed to delighting fans once again.
