New Horizons: Zelda & Splatoon Collaborations Bring Fresh Faces and Items

With the arrival of the Nintendo Switch 2 and a significant update planned for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, players old and new can anticipate fresh content, the return of beloved characters, and the debut of some entirely new faces. The upcoming Animal Crossing: New Horizons update features two exciting collaborations. First, a crossover with Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom introduces iconic clothes and items, and allows players to invite two characters to their islands via Amiibo: Babyl, the fashionable feathered creature from Breath of the Wild, will appear as a stylish white bird, and Mineru, described as a wise hibiscus, will also be available. Players can use Amiibo to invite both Babyl and Mineru to settle on their islands. Mineru’s arrival sets the island’s mood, especially with Hyrule Warriors: Chronicles of the Seal forthcoming. In addition to the Zelda content, Animal Crossing: New Horizons collaborates with Splatoon. This Nintendo-exclusive partnership lets players use Amiibo to bring furniture from both games into their homes or islands. The update for both Switch consoles also reintroduces Kala and Mara, squirrel sisters inspired by Ayo and Oli from New Leaf, who can also be invited to settle on your island using Amiibo.
