Battlefield RedSec Launches Free-to-Play on October 2025, Expanding Battle Royale Arena & Introducing New Gameplay Modes

Building on the momentum of Battlefield 6, which achieved seven million sales in its first three days, Electronic Arts will launch Battlefield RedSec, a free-to-play battle royale game, on October 28, 2025. This release coincides with Season 1 of Battlefield 6. Battlefield RedSec aims to expand the Battlefield player base by offering a zero-entry-cost experience designed to challenge Call of Duty: Warzone in the battle royale arena. RedSec delivers diverse gameplay options. Players can engage in large-scale conflicts on Fort Lyndon, a massive and fully destructible map set in California. For quicker, more concentrated action, Survival mode pits eight squads of four against each other in five-minute tournaments featuring randomly generated objectives and locations. The popular Portal mode also returns, giving players unprecedented freedom to create and customize their own game types. The launch trailer sparked considerable interest, primarily due to a character closely resembling Tom Cruise, an homage to Battlefield 6’s Mission Impossible: Fallout-inspired parachuting sequence. Battlefield 6 Season 1, debuting alongside RedSec, unfolds in three acts: Rogue Ops (live now): Featuring the Blackwell Fields map, Strikepoint mode, and new weapons. California Resistance (November 18): Introducing the Eastwood map, Sabotage mode, and battle pickups.
