Ten days before its release, Death Stranding 2 provides a six-minute narrative recap to remind viewers of the events from the first episode and prepare them for what is to come in approximately ten days. From the outset, the tone is established: America is depicted as a trap with an inevitable conclusion. Sam Porter Bridges, once again played by Norman Reedus, returns to a world that has been newly shattered, perhaps even more so than in the original installment. If he had previously sacrificed himself to connect people in the first episode, it is now this very connection that becomes a source of danger. The video also revisits the consequences of the chiral network. “You brought people and their beaches together, but you also bound them to my beach,” we hear, as images slide over desolate landscapes and familiar faces. Lou’s name is repeatedly mentioned, serving as a constant reminder that Death Stranding 2 is not just a sequel but a more personal quest. The promise of a father? Of a past to mend? We still do not clearly know what has become of Lou. But it is clear that everything revolves around her. Find out on June 26th.
