Available to everyone since March 27, 2025, “The First Berserker Khazan” is a collaboration between studio Neople and publisher Nexon, two South Korean companies entering the highly competitive Souls-like market. According to studio head Myung-Jin Yoon and game director Junho Lee, “The First Berserker Khazan” draws more inspiration from “Dungeon Fighter Online” than it does from titles in the FromSoftware lineup. That said, when examining combat mechanics, gameplay features, and overall difficulty levels, one cannot overlook the influence of Miyazaki’s team. In terms of critical reception, with an average score of 79% on Metacritic for the PS5 version, “The First Berserker Khazan” falls just short of reaching the coveted 80% mark; however, the feedback from critics is largely positive. Player reviews are even more favorable, boasting a current user rating of 8.6/10. Here’s a selection of global review highlights.
