Available for just two weeks, Split Fiction has already achieved significant success globally, with over 118,000 people currently playing the PC version simultaneously as of my writing this. One can imagine that euphoria is still palpable at Hazelight Studios, likely prompting thoughts about a sequel and future projects. In an interview with the Friends Per Second podcast, Josef Fares, the studio’s founder and creative mind behind all its games, confirmed that he has already started work on his next project. The new endeavor began a month ago, indicating we will have to wait several more years before it is revealed.
“Split Fiction is the best-received game we’ve ever made,” stated Josef Fares. He expressed his intense focus and enthusiasm regarding the sequel, which has already begun. However, he mentioned that development is still “far too early.” Despite this, 130 pages of ideas have been written for the game’s story. Given Split Fiction’s immediate success upon release, Fares noted an improved atmosphere within his company and expressed confidence in surpassing previous projects. With the creative flair of its maker, there’s much to anticipate.
