After being postponed to a later date in November 2024, the Amerzone remake, subtitled “The Explorer’s Testament,” will finally arrive on April 24th of the following year. This release date coincides with that of Clair Obscur Expedition 33, although the two titles share no similarities and cater to different audiences. L’Amerzone: The Explorer’s Testament aims to captivate fans of classic point-and-click games and those who appreciate Benoit Sokal’s universe, as it revisits one of his earliest video game works. To demonstrate the thoroughness of the restoration, Microids has provided a comparative video between the original 1999 game and this 2025 remake, which was created using the Unity engine. Everything has been redone from scratch with impressive visual rendering.
Microids has taken the opportunity to provide details about the deluxe digital editions and collector’s version for the game’s 25th anniversary. These versions will include a Media Book that pays homage to the graphic work achieved by Benoît Sokal in 1999, as well as new works created by Microids Studio Paris.
