As one of the latest major games for the Nintendo Switch preceding its predecessor’s anticipated arrival, Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition can be previewed through a new promotional video. This video highlights the exploration of its world, which includes an expansive open environment comprising five continents, each with distinct biomes, climates, and ecosystems. Mira is this hostile planet where Earth’s survivors sought refuge following the destruction of their home planet. Initially, players can explore these areas seamlessly without experiencing any foot loading times. They then gain control of a Skell, a powerful mech that can transform into a wheeled vehicle for faster traversal. Those who played the original game on Wii U in 2015 recall spending approximately 30 hours to acquire and an additional 10 hours to level up these controls. The game has been noted for its pacing issues, which are likely to be present in this Switch version as it is a remaster. Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition is scheduled for release on March 30, 2025.
