Since its unveiling at the Game Awards, Split Fiction has continued to generate interest, with a new video released during the State of Play on February 12, 2025. This latest reveal focuses on the story and what Mio and Zoé will experience together. Notably, these are the names of Josef Farès’ children, who are also the game’s creator and founder of Haelight studio. In the game, Mio is portrayed as a science fiction author, while Zoé is a fantasy writer. They find themselves in an immersive experience where modern technology allows them to live their dreams in real life through a laboratory setting. This setup naturally blends different universes, genres, and gameplay styles, aiming to offer a wide range of experiences. The release of Split Fiction is scheduled for March 6th on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S at $49.99. It’s designed as a cooperative game that requires only one copy for two players; however, you can invite another player to join via cross-play without needing an additional copy.
