Golf enthusiasts who appreciate well-maintained courses and low scores can look forward to the return of the PGA TOUR in 2025. 2K Games has announced the release of PGA TOUR 2K25 on February 25, 2025, for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, marking a year since the last installment. The franchise will no longer follow an annual release schedule, allowing publisher 2K to provide HB Studios with more development time to create a more polished game featuring significant new elements.
This announcement aims to attract attention through sponsorships and notable figures in the field, while also promising updates to the gameplay. One of these updates is the introduction of a new mechanic called EvoSwing, which enhances movement smoothness and realism, along with new shot types, more accurate ball trajectories, and improved rotation physics. In terms of content, PGA TOUR 2K25 will include no fewer than 29 licensed courses at launch, featuring the 2025 U.S. Open at Oakmont Country Club, the 2025 PGA Championship at Quail Hollow Club, and the 153rd Open at Royal Portrush Golf Club, with additional tracks to be made available post-release for Season 2. Notably, the Old Course at St. Andrews is already hinted at as part of the game’s offerings. As is customary with 2K Games productions, players can look forward to the “MyCAREER” mode, which allows participation in major tournaments and includes dynamic match simulations or additional gameplay moments through new training and pre-tournament events.
