The end-of-year holidays have been fruitful for Capcom and its Resident Evil 4 Remake. In a tweet posted a few hours ago, it is revealed that the game has surpassed the threshold of 9 million copies sold worldwide since its release in March 2023. The franchise is thriving, particularly this episode which holds a very important place in the hearts of series fans. The launch was triumphant, with 3 million copies sold in the first few days, but the title has become a long-seller as it reached the 9 million mark in less than two years. Capcom has taken the time to send a message and a lovely illustration to announce the good news and thank its community for their support. A ninth episode is currently in development, with Koshi Nakanishi, the game director of Resident Evil 7, leading the project. It remains to be seen whether it will be an episode in first-person view or a title offering a camera-over-the-shoulder perspective.
