Released 15 days ago, Indiana Jones and the Ancient Circle is considered a genuine commercial success according to analysts like Mat Piscatella. The game reportedly ranked second in dollar sales during the week of December 9-14, just behind Call of Duty Black Ops 6, noting that these figures do not include players who have accessed the game via Game Pass. This success appears to have prompted LucasFilm Games to capitalize on the license with other games currently in production, as suggested by Daniel Richtman, also known as DanielRPK, a well-known insider in both video games and cinema, often accurate in his predictions. His tweet was further supported by Jez Corden of Windows Central, who responded with a “True” gif, sparking discussions on Twitter.
It remains to be seen how the license will proceed, whether it takes the form of a sequel to “The Ancient Circles” with MachineGames continuing as the developer, or if other studios and publishers become involved in entirely different titles. This is where one could envision a true third-person Indiana Jones game, which many players have requested, although MachineGames’ unique vision has proven to be entirely valid. All that’s left now is to wait for official announcements…
