At gamescom 2024 in August last year, Dying Light: The Beast was unveiled with a new trailer during The Game Awards. This provided Techland the chance to announce its summer 2025 release date and express gratitude to fans for their support; the game already boasts over one million wishlists on Steam. It is noteworthy that this marks the third installment of the franchise, which initially began as an expansion before evolving into a full-fledged game. In terms of storyline, players will follow Kyle Crane as he confronts Marius Fischer, who subjected him to violent experiences for more than a decade. Fischer is actually the last descendant of a prominent and wealthy pharmaceutical dynasty from Castor Woods. Believing that only a small fraction of humanity will survive the epidemic, Fischer has taken it upon himself to restore order at any cost. To achieve his goal, he employs obscure virus strains with an ultimate objective yet unknown, even to Kyle Crane who remains just one piece in the puzzle the Baron is assembling. The trailer includes gameplay snippets showcasing various weapons and atmospheric scenes, including a nighttime forest environment.
The release of Dying Light: The Beast is scheduled for summer 2025 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
