Among the announcements made during tonight’s Game Awards was the unveiling of Turok Origins, marking the return of a prominent franchise from the 1990s. Saber Interactive is leading this resurgence, having recently earned acclaim for developing Warhammer Space Marine 2 just months ago. Matthew Karch, CEO and co-founder of Saber Interactive, has also written a message highlighting the game’s significance to him personally.
Turok was one of the first console shooter games I played. When considering game franchises worthy of a comeback, Turok was at the top of our list. At Saber Interactive, we take pride in reviving classic licenses and integrating them with innovative gameplay elements. We are excited to finally announce the game and look forward to offering this retro experience with modern execution.
Starting from a blank slate, Saber Interactive aims to revitalize the series, and the decision to make it a third-person shooter (TPS) has been confirmed. Players will encounter new hunters featuring a more contemporary appearance, equipped with organic suits that can generate camouflage to blend into their surroundings. Dinosaurs are not the only creatures players will face; an extraterrestrial threat poses a danger to Earth as well. The game is designed for solo play or cooperative multiplayer, supporting up to three players. As for the release date, it has not yet been announced.
