It was thought that CD Projekt Red had concluded work on Cyberpunk 2077 and the studio was fully dedicated to producing The Witcher 4. However, it appears that Polish developers still had resources to celebrate the game’s 4th anniversary. This celebration is reflected in version 2.2 of the game, which introduces several new features and enhancements to further enrich the experience previously enhanced by high-quality DLC from last year, including “The Phantom Liberty.” With this update, over 100 new customization options for V are available, along with CrystalCoat compatibility for certain vehicle brands and a new TWINTONE color palette feature for compatible CrystalCoat vehicles. Additionally, the photo mode has been enhanced with new camera options, height/width ratios, lighting sources, and mobile NPCs, among other improvements. CD Projekt Red also addressed some lingering bugs in this patch.
Here is the detail of update 2.2:
New Features:
Rayfield’s CrystalCoat technology, originally designed exclusively for Rayfield vehicles, has now been adopted by other automobile manufacturers. You can now customize the paint of Herrera, Mizutani, Quadra, and Villefort vehicles. Pro tip: Use CrystalCoat to reduce your NCPD search level. Kiroshi introduces TWINTONE! While CrystalCoat gains popularity, TWINTONE elevates your painting work. Simply scan a car with your Kiroshi optics, go to the TWINTONE tab, record the vehicle’s color palette for a small fee, and later select it from the TWINTONE database under the CrystalCoat menu. You’ll find generic color palettes for all compatible CrystalCoat vehicles and unique, model-specific palettes copied from the original vehicle. Note: Color palette cloning is not permitted on quest-related vehicles, NCPD-owned vehicles, or incompatible with CrystalCoat technology vehicles.
CD Projekt Red, while focusing on The Witcher 4, has released the version 2.2 update for Cyberpunk 2077 to celebrate its 4th anniversary. This patch includes over 100 new customization options for the protagonist V, CrystalCoat compatibility for various vehicle brands (Rayfield, Herrera, Mizutani, and Quadra), a new TWINTONE color palette feature for compatible CrystalCoat vehicles, and an enhanced photo mode with additional camera options, lighting sources, and mobile NPCs. The update also includes bug fixes. Notably, Kiroshi’s TWINTONE feature allows players to record and select specific vehicle color palettes for customization, although this is restricted on certain vehicles.
The drone camera is now a free camera instead of an orbital camera centered around V. The camera range has been increased. Full collision (ON/OFF): determines if the camera respects object collisions in the game. Camera lock (ON/OFF): locks the camera to prevent accidental clicks and ruin shots. Precise camera (ON/OFF): slows down the camera for easier aiming. Height/width ratio (PC only: custom resolution screenshots are not available on consoles. Console systems can only export images in standard 16:9 format.) Characters tab: summon up to 3 NPCs for your photo, with over 20 characters to choose from. You can adjust their expression, pose, and position. Lighting tab: summon and adjust light sources. Fix the phantom depth of field problem. Add an intensity effect slider.
