According to Ampere Analysis data, reported by The Game Business in early July, Death Stranding 2 sold an impressive 1.4 million copies within its first month of release. The game, which launched in late June, was available on PlayStation 5 for only five days during this initial sales period. While European physical sales for Death Stranding 2 were slower compared to the original title, digital sales show strong performance. In the UK, the game topped the weekly charts for physical copies; however, it sold 66 fewer copies than the first Death Stranding and 33 fewer than Astro Bot. Kojima Productions and Sony have not yet shared official sales figures for the title. Nevertheless, its early performance is promising.
