The last time Alien Isolation 2 was mentioned was in 2019, when hopes for its existence were tempered. Five years later, however, things have changed, and SEGA and The Creative Assembly have officially confirmed that development has begun. The announcement date was not chosen at random, as it coincides with the 10th anniversary of the first Alien Isolation. This marks a resurgence in the franchise, likely spurred by the success of the recent film Alien Romulus, which has galvanized the English studio. Creative Director Al Hope is particularly pleased to work on the license again and thanked players for their continued support over the past decade.
On the occasion of this tenth anniversary, I am pleased to inform you that we have clearly heard your requests for assistance. Today, I confirm on behalf of the team that a sequel to Alien: Isolation is in development. We look forward to sharing more details as soon as they are ready. Thank you once again. Until next time.
It is quite surprising that a sequel can finally be announced, given that the sales of the first episode were insufficient (2.1 million copies sold), but one assumes that SEGA and the studio will employ all possible strategies to ensure its successful marketing. Now, patience will be required as production has just begun.
