This development is a significant relief for Studio and the Little Big Adventure restoration project, as French developers have now secured a partner to support their efforts. The positive news had been shared several months ago, though the identity of the publisher was initially withheld. Microids revealed its interest in the initiative to revive a cornerstone of French video game history, underscoring that it is never too late to breathe new life into the classics from the 1980s and 1990s. In collaboration with Studio, they have not merely remastered but entirely reimagined the project, incorporating a fresh artistic direction (toon-shading), enhanced gameplay mechanics, and newly composed music by Philippe Vachey. The objective is to resonate with the nostalgia of older gamers while introducing younger players to a title that left an indelible mark during its era. Considering the game’s considerable age, it was also determined to reconstruct the levels entirely for improved smoothness and overall playability.
The release of “Little Big Adventure: Twinsen’s Quest” is anticipated for October 2024 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
