Two years after the initial announcement and one year following a hacking incident, Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA VI) is now ready for unveiling. In a tweet posted to the Rockstar Games account, Sam Houser, the studio’s co-founder, announced that the first trailer for the “next Grand Theft Auto” will indeed be revealed at the beginning of December. This news was previously leaked by Jason Schreier, who had earlier reported that Rockstar Games was preparing to share updates about its game. Within minutes, GTA 6 became a trending topic on Twitter, with Sam Houser’s message surpassing 10 million views in just 30 minutes. This widespread interest underscores the significant anticipation for the game within and beyond the gaming community, as it also captured mainstream media attention. The trailer will be released around Rockstar Games’ 25th anniversary and approximately ten years after GTA V’s release on PS3 and Xbox 360, spanning two console generations. With over 185 million copies sold since its launch, GTA V holds the second spot for best-selling game in video game history, right behind Minecraft, which also includes mobile sales.
