Ubisoft is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon franchise with a series of updates and events, including the launch of an insider program for a new game. The Last Rites update, available today, introduces a new standalone mission to Ghost Recon Wildlands. Developed by Ubisoft Bordeaux, this mission is set in a dark and oppressive Bolivia where players, according to Ubisoft, must hunt down the cult leader La Llorona. The mission challenges players to navigate treacherous swamps and dense forests with limited visibility. Beyond the new mission, the Last Rites update significantly enhances the gameplay experience for Ghost Recon Wildlands. The game now runs at 60 frames per second, with visual improvements including 4K resolution on current-generation consoles and PC. Players can further customize their experience through extensive gameplay parameters, difficulty settings, environmental configurations, and interface options. These settings allow for adjustments to enemy behavior, damage values, weapon restrictions, friendly fire, weather conditions, and HUD elements, enabling players to tailor the realism, challenge, and immersion of the game. New gameplay features also include an authentic reloading mechanic, the ability to disable HUD glow effects for items, and adjustable time of day and weather conditions.

Furthermore, Ubisoft is offering several promotional events and content to mark the anniversary: Ghost Recon: Future Soldier is available for free on PC via Ubisoft Connect from August 6th to August 13th. Ghost Recon Wildlands and Ghost Recon Breakpoint are free to play from August 6th to August 10th. Players can claim free in-game items for Ghost Recon Breakpoint. The iconic Predator event returns, allowing players to face an extraterrestrial threat. Ubisoft is offering discounts of up to 95% on the entire Ghost Recon franchise for purchases made during this promotional period.
