Bungie has detailed Marathon’s second season, launching on June 2, 2026. To celebrate, a free trial of the full game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC from June 2 to June 9. Players who participate in the trial can retain any progress made if they decide to purchase Marathon. Season 2 will introduce the Nightswamp, a new explorable area, and the Sentinel runner armor. A new attribute customization system, the Cradle, will also be added. As suggested by its cinematic trailer, Marathon is designed with a terror and survival atmosphere, featuring new items, enemies, and mechanics. To navigate the darkness, players will need to utilize lanterns, night vision goggles, and signalizers. The Sentinel Watch is a defensive group designed for area control and the protection of teammates. Its primary ability is an automated laser platform that identifies and destroys enemy grenades and missiles, while also enhancing short-range weapon handling for nearby allies.
