On July 21, 2025, YouTube will discontinue its global Trending page, a feature that has served as a benchmark for discovering popular content for a decade. This change, which also eliminates the “Trending Now” list, means YouTube Charts and personalized recommendations will now guide users to popular content. This shift in content discovery could impact the visibility of videos, particularly those from independent creators or growing channels in areas like gaming. The new YouTube Charts are designed to provide a more streamlined and intuitive view of trending content. Accessible globally via charts.youtube.com, these category-based charts will include sections for Trending Music Videos, Weekly Top Podcast Shows, and Trending Movie Trailers. Gaming content will remain within its dedicated “Gaming Explore” section. YouTube plans to expand these categories further in the future. This update aligns with YouTube’s broader strategy to prioritize personalization algorithms and data analytics over traditional aggregated charts for content discovery.

Personalized Recommendations Elevate Creators via YouTube’s New Inspiration Tab and Music Tab Replacement from July 21, 2025

For creators, the changes bring enhanced access to trend analytics through the new Inspiration tab in YouTube Studio. Additionally, YouTube is extending support tools for emerging creators, such as Hype, Creators on the Rise, and Artist on the Rise.
